77 days. A lovely sweet thick walled broad shouldered 12cm long conical pepper is more of a pimento type than anything else. Stocky robust plants are extremely productive especially in an open ended greenhouse. Keeps well as in early January, the ones in the veggie crisper still look great. Again, if you start these along side the tomatoes in mid February you will have a bounty of these tasty beauties. Tobacco mosaic virus resistant. Open pollinated.

How to germinate Apple Sweet Pepper seeds:
Use a well draining medium and pots no shallower than 10cm. Peppers don’t take to transplanting as well as tomatoes so sow thinly. Sow at 4mm deep, keep moist (not wet) and germinate at 30C. Maintain this temp until the seedlings are at the first set of true leaves appear then grow at cooler temps (20C days and 16C nights). Give lots of strong light. A clear plastic cover will help maintain humidity and prevent wild temperature swings. This cover shouldn’t be needed after the third true leaf stage. Give 1/2 strength liquid fertilizer to water. Foliar mists work well. Plant out when frost has passed and soil is warm. All peppers grow well in pots (2 gallon size and larger).
