How to germinate Giant Winter Spinach seeds
Soak 24 hrs. Sow 1cm deep in prepared bed amended with compost & balanced organic fertilizer. Keep moist. Germs 10 days at 20C. Thin, leave strongest plants spaced 15cm apart. Sow late June for fall harvest; late August for overwintering in greenhouse for loads of tender winter greens. Crowded conditions, dry soil, hot temps will make plants bolt. Happy plants give lots of tasty viddles cooked, fresh or blanched then froze.
