Description

Geneva seedling. Aka `Gene` the mother tree comes from the decades long breeding program in Geneva, NY.  Of the thousands of trees grown in their `disease nursery`, those with natural multiple strain EFB resistance, large exceptional nut quality, productivity and cold hardiness were selected. `Geneva`, a European x American hybrid, is one of many successes. Deemed a superior variety for both commercial and home orchards. Ontario sourced seed. Maternal incompatibility alleles are 15 and 23, where only 15 is present in the pollen.
