Much loved by honey & bumblebees and many other beneficial insects.  Globe shaped red hips once/still used by our First Nations.

The sweet perfume of antique roses and lemons fills the air  Much loved by bees and other pollinators seeking nectar and pollen.  Easy to grow and tolerant to many soil types. Deer seem to ignore it.  Its dense branching makes is perfect as a hedge candidate.

How to germinate Rosa nutkana seeds:

Sow thinly at 4 mm deep. Keep moist; greater success with plastic cover. Cold stratify 8-12 weeks. Opt. germination temp: 15-22 C. Days to germ: 20-450.
