How to germinate Mahonia aquifolium seed:
Soak seed 48 hours. Warm stratify (21C) for 60 days, then cold stratify (2-4C) for 5 months. This mimics the late summer & winter conditions. Germinate at 15-20C. Should see sprouting in 3-7 weeks. Sow thinly or prick out and transplant if using trays or baggie sowing into deep pots as roots go deep. Loves a thin layer of mulch.
