Yates, a self fertile 90 chromosome American Persimmon, is seedless, to produce seed Szukis is the pollen parent. Yates x Szukis crosses continue to be used have by breeders to produce seedlings with a high percentage (75%) of self fertile female progeny. This is due to Szukis’s mosaic chimera nature if it having two distinct genomes. Seed is from Red Fern Farm
