How to germinate Syringa josikaea seeds:
Soak 24 hours in room temperature water. Place seed in baggie filled with equal mix of moist coarse sand and peat or sow 5 mm deep. Keep moist. Cold stratify 30-90 days in the fridge or outdoors (do not freeze). When cold stratification period is over, provide temps of 14-18 C to germinate. Days to germination: 14-45 days. If sowing in a baggie, check seed in the fridge for early risers. If germinating in the baggie transplant sprouts as needed.
