Its early spring flowers translate into early picking of these heavenly edibles months sooner than domestic types. 2cm  fruits are packed with flavour.  I found these creeping onto a decommissioned logging road in full sun and severely compacted coarse soil.  I’m hoping plants will provide larger fruits given better growing conditions.  Bears lots of fruits that seem to be tucked around the base of the plant, not held aloft or sprawling like other strawberries I’ve picked.  Differs from F. chilonensis by having longer mat textured leaves and not as tolerant to a maritime (salt spray) conditions.  Will make a lovely edible ground cover in short time. Blazing scarlet fall colour.
