Seed does not require any germination pre-treatment. Surface sow in the fall or spring. Requires light to germinate so be aware of this whether direct sowing or in nursery culture.  As the common name suggests, this species loves damp spots regardless if its in a moist ditch or a natural seep. An annual in harsher climes, but perennial in milder. Seeds are tiny; best to have minimal competition to ensure a good recruitment.
