Yeah, we did an oops. During collection the “Speckled Trout” and “Drunken Woman” lettuce seed was mixed up. Both are beautiful varieties with great flavour, but totally different form types: Speckled Trout is a sweet romaine whereas Drunken Woman is a large extremely tender loose leaf. Lesson learned in using different collection baskets and a good hat to prevent sun baked brains. What ratio of each is in the mix is a mystery as well. Enjoy!

How to germinate and grow lettuce seeds:
Thinly sow & barely cover; tamp firm & mist. Success greater with clear cover. Gentle bottom heat promotes germination. Days to germ: 5-10. Grow at 10C in fertile soil. Use liquid kelp for the best greens. Best sites: full sun, cool moisture retentive fertile soil. Stays green in shade.
